What Kind Of Media Institution Might Distribute Your Media Product And Why?

I think my magazine would either be published by Bauer or IPC Media as these are the two biggest media companies. IPC Media is one of the largest multinational media companies in the world, so if my magazine were to be published with this company it would be well known in many places which would be good for its publicity. IPC Media already publishes music magazines such as; NME and Uncut. Both magazines are different to my magazine, but my magazine does have similar aspects of NME where I preferred to review live music such as the Ellie Goulding gig, and had a picture from the gig which is a similar to feature of NME as they are more interested in live music than more commercial music. But still these two magazines are more of a Rock audience where as my magazine is more targeted at the Indie audience.
Then looking at Bauer publishing which is the largest private publisher in Europe, being a private publisher my magazine may be more protected from being copied and may have more interest in the information actually in the magazine, rather than with a multinational magazine advertising may take over and be more important than the information in the magazine and the target audience. But at the same time this advertising would help to gain profits from the magazine, I would have to think about what kind of advertising would appeal to my target audience to make sure there is a definite profit made, and the advertising doesn't put the reader off my magazine. Another point with publishing my magazine with Bauer is that it only covers europe where as IPC is multinational and I could gain many links with for example top american artists which would be more 'exotic' for my magazine and giving it another selling point which would put it above the other magazines. Bauer publishes magazines such a; Q, Kerrang and Mojo. Because my magazine is highly influenced by Q magazine, so the magazines would be very similar so it would be best to go with IPC Media as there isn't a magazine that is very similar to mine.
