Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?

Demographics

Looking at my audience in terms of their demographic profile I would say their age range would be from late teens; 16/17 to young adults 25. I aimed my magazine at both a male and female audience, as there aren't many magazine's that a aimed at both audiences. To do this I added aspects that appear in both female and male targeted magazines and combined them. I think their regionality would be anywhere in this country really, places where you can easily travel to festivals, shops and gigs etc. My audience's marital status would most probably be single as they are quite young. Their social status would be somewhere in the B, C1 or C2 bands, as they would have to be willing to spend some money on the magazine, but not too much as most of their money would be going on clothes, gigs and festivals.

Psychographics

Looking at my audience in terms of their psychographic profile, my audience would be aspirers wanting a luxury lifestyle like the artists they read about, and also individuals as they are quite young wanting to find their own taste in music and fashion.

My audience's taste of music is shown by the artists that I have involved in my magazine; they are all indie/rock genre bands. I have chosen these bands as they are who I believe my audience would listen to and be interested in reading about them in my magazine. This is one reason why they would buy my magazine, also because this issue of my magazine offers them a list of 10 new acts, my audience will always be looking for new acts to listen to and go see in gigs etc. Also I added a list of reviews on gigs as this is what my audience are interested in going to gigs, so reviews on the latest gigs is something that they will be interested in reading.

Thinking of the type of advertisements to have in my magazine, I think I would have some advertisements for clothes shops and when they have discounts etc. as my audience are interested in shopping, and probably for discounts as well as they are quite young and won't have loads of money to spend on clothes. So the shops advertised would most probably be high street shops like, topshop/topman, river island as these are two of the high street shops that stock for both male and female. I would also advertise the latest gigs and festival tickets and where they would go on sale. I would also most probably advertise things like, fragrances for both male and female, and styling products for hair once again both male and female.
